This weekend saw us host our two Community Carol services , both Saturday & Sunday were very well attended, and on the Sunday we welcomed our Civic Leaders, the Mayor & Mayoress of Medway and also the Queen’s representative, Deputy Lieutenant Col. Gilbert
The Guests were greeted by the YP Band playing Carols outside
The Theme of the 12 days of Christmas was used , but the focus was on Gifts of Christmas .
The Concert opened with 12 Drummers
Following the Drummers we had our first Carol – O Come all Ye Faithfull
Major Ian gave a welcome to everyone and then following the Theme we continued to have music from our Pipers – playing Joy To The World
The Congregation had a chance to sing again , with ” In the Bleak Midwinter & Ding Dong Merrily on High . The Gift referred to was the Corps itself , and all the activities that take place here
Our Singing Company were the Next Gift, Major Ian Spoke of the Scouting Sections that are associated with the Corps . The Singing Company Sang the song ” Where shall we go this Christmas ” and we were treated to some excellent dance moves related to the various countries named in the song
Our Senior Band played Angels From Glory
we next heard from Paul Woodhouse with a vocal Solo ” Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”
We had a classic Christmas reading from Territorial Envoy Tony McClure , supported by the Band playing “Shepherd Farewell ”
This was followed by a lively performance from our Timbrels with a routine entitled – On Christmas Parade
A few more Carols followed – ” A Starry Night & While Shepherds watched ” and then we heard from our YP Band , who played Good King Wenceslas
While the YP Band stayed on the Platform , we had some children called up to call in Father Christmas, with the special Bell
Thanks were given for all the donations given, that can now be distributed to those in need this Christmas .
We all joined in with a couple more Carols – ” Joy to the World ” & “As With Gladness ” and following this our Songsters sang two songs ” Christmas Tide” & ” Rejoice with Exceeding Great Joy ”

We had a brief interruption by our cleaners Holly & Ivy, who gave us a great comedy sketch , but still delivered a message about Christmas .
Our concert drew to a close with the gathering of the main characters in the nativity story , during which we were singing “Silent Night” & “Hark The Herald ” .
Major Ian delivered his Christmas message and some of the Band gathered on the platform to close the concert with ” We Wish You A Merry Christmas ”
The remainder of the Band gathered outside to play Carols for people as they were leaving
