12th May 2019
Welcome to Chatham Salvation Army, a Christian fellowship where we are attempting to bring ‘Christ to people and people to Christ’.
This newsletter has been produced in a different format due to the absence of our Commanding Officer, Major Ian F Payne, who is, together with Major Judith Payne, leading a group on tour in the Holy Land. If you would like to follow their progress and are familiar with Facebook, please feel free to log onto their Facebook page, Israel SA. We know they reached Jerusalem safely and are enjoying their pilgrimage. We pray they will come back refreshed in body and spirit.
There is no 4pm meeting this afternoon but please make a note of the afternoon activity next Sunday, 19th May when the Band is visiting the Foord Almshouses Social Club, Priestfields, Rochester. You are welcome to join them. See Adrian Horwood for details.
Anything over the next week or so that needs attention please, in the first instance, can you contact the CSM who will advise and direct.
Our leaders for this morning’s meeting are Trish and Don Hall. Let’s have a great morning of worship and engaging with God this morning.
God bless Chatham Citadel Corps
|Calling all ladies! You are welcome to come to Ladies Fellowship at 8 pm tomorrow, Monday 13 May. Our Guest Speaker is Martin Davis. See Sharon Smith for details.|
Please pray this prayer:
Father God, I pray for my church today, that you will fill each of us with your joy and peace, and that, in our worship, our fellowship and mission, we will overflow with hope, by the power of your Holy Spirit, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
We offer our congratulations to Majors Jim and Alma Brown who celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on 7 May.
FLOWERS – We are grateful to those who donate the flowers which adorn our hall.
(Thanks to Joan for arranging them). Please add your name to the list of dates on the notice-board if you wish to donate flowers.
PARKING OUTSIDE THE HALL
Can I respectfully ask those with Blue Badges to not park immediately outside the front doors of the Hall on the roadside. Please drop off your passengers then park on the cobbles behind the hall displaying your blue badge. Why? I hear you say. The cars do block our entrance visibility and become a barrier, we do want to encourage people to come in for worship, please be considerate to others – it is not much to ask.
