Christmas Carol concerts

This Year we planned for two Community Carol Services, and it was very pleasing to see the hall full on both days.

The services began with theYP Band welcoming Guests, the 1st photo was on Saturday with the 2nd one taken on the Sunday ( 4pm start)

The Service began with the Band

Band Playing a Fanfare which led into the congregation singing  O come all ye Faithful

Emma Davis Solo , with the Band

“Who is he”

This was followed by a Carol – A starry night , and then we welcomed the

Singing Company singing -Born for Us

We had a Mother & Baby Tableau next with Mother & Daughter vocalists

Mother  ( Roxanne) & Baby                               Carolynn & Isobella

Following on from the this was a Christmas poem.  On Saturday this was read by Roger & Penny , and on Sunday it was read by Steve & Julie ( sorry no photo of you Steve & Julie)

We were presented a video from the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit , who were our chosen charity to support this year ,and with whom the money raised on both days, was shared  . Following this some of the Band played Carols during the collection

The next item of the evening was a Male Quartet consisting of Tim, Adrian, Ryan & Martin singing various themes on the Fa -La -La song ! Tim said he always dresses as a shepherd at Carol Concerts

The YP Band followed with two pieces , the 2nd of which was jingle Bells. This heralded the entrance of Father Christmas – who I only managed to catch before he left .

We had three Congregational Carols followed by a display by  our Timbrels.

We had a Guest Musician on Saturday, Darius …who played the piano and sang his own composition entitled -A series of small steps

Scripture readings were given  by Olive Long ( Sun)  & Major Judith Payne (Sat) followed by the Carol “Silent Night” .

Our Songsters were next item of the evening  with two Songs  ” Tell Me  Tell Me ”  &  “In the Face of a Child”, During the singing of which our Nativity scene began to form

A Brass quartet played for  us out at the end of the Concerts ,  and a great time was had by all on both days.

Members of the Senior Band played to  our Guests outside  as they left (only fair as the YP Band played outside earlier)

Thank you to those who organised the concerts , and supported in every way . Both Concerts were Lively with a great atmosphere and i can’t really  do them Justice here , i just hope i have given a flavour of what happened ….

Both Concerts were Live streamed on Social Media by Major Ian F Payne

Thank you my Balcony photographer Debbie Abbott ,  and the extra still’s from the video camera of Greg Davis
