Corps Website: www.chathamsa.org.uk 15th July 2018 Welcome to Chatham Salvation Army, a Christian fellowship where we are attempting to bring ‘Christ to people and people to Christ’. This morning we welcome back Major Judith Payne to bring the second part of the Bible teaching around Psalm 23, ‘A Life without Lack’ – The faith that we need to experience this – I am grateful to Major Judith in her busy schedule to take on this extra responsibility, we are blessed. This evening will be a Café Church around the theme ‘Leap of Faith’, no sections will be out just come relaxed and being a friend. Let’s see what a leap of faith means to you in the context of your day to day living.

Many of you will be preparing to go on holiday, and this week will be the final practices of the sections before the summer break – Wherever you are going enjoy the summer break, don’t stray too far from God as he will never leave your side – But if it is rest you need, take it and enjoy. We look forward to a great 2nd half of the year.

God bless you all.

Ian F Payne

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray this prayer:

Father God, I pray for my church today, that you will fill each of us with your joy and peace, and that, in our worship, our fellowship and mission, we will overflow with hope, by the power of your Holy Spirit, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Your prayers are appreciated for the following people:

Newly Commissioned Lieutenants and their families and the SA Officers and their families around the UKT who are moving to new areas of service.

Those of our SA family who are undergoing treatment; Peter Wood, Bev Hudson and Barrie Wells. Those for whom each day brings challenges: Audrey and David Holder, Doreen Scott, Rita Broomfield, Jim and Alma Brown, Mike and Lilian Cordner.

Continue to pray for Jodie Woodhouse and her family, also for Lisa Davis and her family, especially her father, Malcolm Tostevin .

Finally for those who are fighting addictions, including Lachlan who we mentioned last week.

This Wednesday, 18 July.

We have been made aware of the need for prayer, specifically on 18 July, by the CSW Campaigns team.

‘Join us in 24 hours of prayer and action for Leah’s release

‘Leah Sharibu refused to renounce her faith. She paid the price with her freedom. ‘She was one of 110 girls abducted from their school in Dapchi, Nigeria by Boko Haram in February 2018. The next month, following negotiations by the government, the girls were put into trucks to go home. But Leah wasn’t among them. She wasn’t released because she refused to convert in exchange for her freedom.’

‘Will you pray for Leah’s release on 18 July? This marks 150 days since her abduction.’

Please let Jean know of any urgent prayer requests for the supportive prayers of the Prayer Chain. Email her on jeanmjones86@yahoo.co.uk or text on 07787718273.
