A packed cathedral greeted the Band on Saturday when it once again assisted with the Rochester Dickensian Christmas Festival ‘Songs of Praise’.
In playing before and after the event, and accompanying the carols, the Band gave a good account of itself and was much appreciated by the several hundred people in the congregation
Outside, in the bitterly cold weather, thousands thronged the main street and the area around the castle as the stalls entertained the visitors with Christmas themes. It was good to see so many families enjoying time together in the happy, festive atmosphere. There was always, of course, the need to keep warm!!
