"Bringing Christ to People and People to Christ"

Transformed lives

Under this heading the Easter issue of Salvationist  (The Salvation Army’s weekly publication) published a full double page of testimonies relating to people who, in recent months, have linked up with the corps fellowship at Chatham, finding faith and fellowship. Over the next few days and weeks we will publish these testimonies. Today we feature Jacqui and Phil.

Jacqui believes God was working to transform her life before she even was aware of him. After losing her job she was in a very bad place and wanted life to end. Of all the policemen who could have come to help, the special constable who arrived was the architect who had recently worked on the Salvation Army building in Chatham. He knew the officers and made her promise to pop in and see them, which she did. Jacqui says there was a lovely atmosphere in the Salvation Army. She spoke to a lady called Marjory who listened, prayed with her and invited her to the ladies fellowship. The first Sunday she came the youth group put on Chatham s got Talent . It struck her how happy these people were having so much fun in worship. There were some lovely songs which spoke to her about God s love. “I still have a way to go, but God and the people at this church have changed my life.” Jacqui feels she has hope for a future that once looked very dark. She invited Phil, a good friend, and they both now attend worship regularly.

Come back tomorrow and read about Isabel.
