Discipleship Evening

Wednesday evenings, for at least part of the year, are very busy in the area of Discipleship.

This week saw the final session of the latest ‘Christianity for Life’ course. At the same time the ‘Alpha’ course was in full swing in another part of the building and a ‘Bilble Study’ was taking place in yet a third location. The building, limited in facilities as it is, was buzzing with people learning more about Jesus.

Ray Maycock and Jean Jones have been responsible for the Christianity for Life course and Major Drew was present for this final session. Here are some photos of the group and its leaders

Steve and Melanie Scoulding are leading their last Alpha course before beginning their final preparation for officer training. They have had responsibility for Alpha for over four years since finding their faith through the earlier courses held in the corps. Here are some photos of the Alpha course and leaders

The regular Wednesday Bible Study group is led by Major Beverley and is currently studying the scriptural basis of the Army’s doctrines. Healthy debate is a feature of this group. Some of the regular attenders are involved with the other Wednesday evening activities and so the group is usually larger than the one shown in the photos.

The corps attaches great importance to its nurturing programmes. There are other Bible Study groups not featured in this news post and all music sections have a time of spiritual development within their rehearsal schedules. Use the links provided above or just browse to find out more.
