SACRED WORDS FOR A SECULAR WORLD

A new lent course begins this week (Wednesday 22 February) at 8pm in our Church Street hall and all are welcome.

This weekend we saw the end of our ‘Fit for Life’ theme which has been running since the beginning of the year (and was postponed two weeks ago because of the snow). The meetings were led by Majors Alec and Andrea Still.

Pampered Chef is a company which specializes in making things easier in the kitchen. Company consultant Rachel Gash gave a presentation to the Ladies Fellowship on Monday evening.

This Friday, 17 February, is Prayer and Praise night for our young people.

Majors Alec and Andrea Still have been away on Salvation Army business elsewhere this weekend and we have been blessed by ministry from others in their stead.

Despite a weather forecast predicting heavy snow later in the evening the Regent Hall Band journeyed to Chatham to share in a concert with our own Songsters last Saturday evening.

There will be a presence at the hall this morning in case anyone with a Foodbank voucher requires assistance or emergency lunch is required. Please ring the bell at the left hand side of the door.

At long last the mildest UK winter for many years has given way to a blast of icy weather from the east.

Due to inclement weather this evening’s meeting (5 February) has been cancelled. This afternoon’s meeting of the Discipleship Group has also been cancelled as has the Mainly Music Group tomorrow morning. Further announcements will be made here when we receive more information.

Update: We can now confirm that the Monday Lunch will not take place tomorrow and the Hub Cafe will not be open. This includes the Foodbank Drop-in Centre. The Costa Book Club scheduled for Monday evening is also cancelled.
