A nostalgic evening

Last Saturday evening was spent enjoying some great memories from former years and saw the return of a number of those who were ‘juniors’ or workers here to join in the celebrations.

They were all young once!

The evening began with a series of choruses formerly used by the children which included ‘I am a C’, ‘All in a row, singing we go’ and ‘The wise man built his house upon the rock’. The ‘old’ timbrels (see above) played to the march ‘The Red Shield’, a one time timbrel favourite, before Jean Jones interviewed Rita Broomfield and Cyril Adams about their experiences of years gone by.

Liberate 2012

Last weekend eight ladies from Chatham travelled to the Salvation Army’s conference centre at Sunbury Court for the annual ‘Liberate’ get together organised by Maureen Ross, Divisional Family Officer for the London South East Division.
