Reports from Surrey

Sunday 12th May saw an early start for members of the Band, who travelled through the Kent and Surrey countryside to The Holmwood, a rural village area just south of Dorking (writes Bandmaster Ray Maycock (R)).  The Band’s visit was to the Church of St Mary Magdalene, its Vicar being Barbara Steadman-Allen.

On a recent very chilly evening our youngsters were ‘entertained’ to a ‘bobble hats and bonfires’ evening in the local Baden Powell facility at Buckmore Park.

Two High Profile Disasters – Involvement

SALVATIONISTS in Bangladesh are responding after an eight-storey building collapsed in Savar, about 30 kilometres from the capital city, Dhaka. At least 200 people have been killed in the disaster, though that number is likely to rise as rescuers work their way through the ruins.
