We are pleased to report that Cadets David & Jennifer Gosling, who have carried out part of their officer training at Chatham, have been appointed to Perth. Our love and prayers go with them.

February half term saw the first of our children’s outreach activities for 2010. This event was aimed at the families in the Shipwrights area, for children aged 8yrs-12yrs and took place at the Endeavour Foyer.

If you’d like to hear the Band ‘in concert,’ come and support on Saturday 20th February at St Nicholas Church, Church Road, Otham ME15 8SB. The evening commences at 7 pm and admission is £8. Proceeds are in aid of the St. Nicholas Church Funds.

The snow has been falling again but not enough to distract us from our activities at the Corps. During the week the Ladies Fellowship met for their Quiz Evening and enjoyed a lively evening of fellowship.
General Shaw Clifton has requested a specific call to prayer with the following focus:
• the citizens of Haiti whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed;
• the children of Haiti, many of whom lie injured;
• the bereaved families, too many to number at the present time, and with corpses still lying untended in the streets as [...]

Churches together in Chatham organise the tree of hope in the town centre. This is a tree where stars can be hung in memory of a loved one. At the same time a charity collection is made and this year we are the nominated charity for our community work.
Now that phase 1 of our Building Redevelopment Scheme is completed, and we move on to phase 2, we have introduced a facility to donate on line.

The Ladies Fellowship enjoyed a very informative talk by David Waller, Chief Executive of Fegans, a Christian charity whose vision is for a society in which every child knows they are loved and valued and which believes that this can only happen through the transforming love and power of Christ.
