We decided to read a book off the popular book list in May and chose ‘A Family Affair’ by Mary Campisi. Well it wasn’t a difficult heavy read but certainly had some twists and turns.
Well we met today in Costa and had a nice chat about a number of books but Jeans enthusiasm about a book she had just commenced reading made the decision to make it our book for this month fairly easy. ‘The Grace Outpouring’ by Roy Godwin & Dave Robinson, Becoming a People of Blessing. Watch this space for the report next month on this title.
We will meet on the 17th June and again on the 15th July which will sadly be my last Bookclub meet. Please support us and come along to Costa even if you just like books you do not need to be an avid reader.

I laughed out loud at the deliberately ambiguous phrases in the second paragraph……….I wonder how many reading this article will miss the intentional humour?! On a serious note, it was good to have an insight into the band’s away ministry. Thank you Ray and Rosemary!

We were overwhelmed by the response to the new hall, in terms of the number of people who turned up, and the positive comments. The prayer stations and Bible promises posted around will remain for the week for those who may want to have a quieter roam around the hall. It was right to start with good fellowship. Thank you

The new suite of buildings looks amazing. I am sure you will be able to reach out to the community with all the lovely facilities. We will try to get down to see you all sometime, but Cynthia’s condition and my increasing age make long distance travel very difficult.

I have been attending Chatham 16th Corps for 75 years and I am delighted and impressed with the new facilities we now have. The Worship hall retains the ‘Chatham’ atmosphere and the new Young Peoples halls and ‘Community’ meeting places will make our service to God and His kingdom, and the people of Chatham, so much more effective and the ability to help those in need. I am proud to be associated with the Salvation Army Chatham Corps and thank God for his blessings to me and my family. God continue to be with us in His Name.

Thanks to all who are working so hard to get the hall ready. A real labour of love. Hope all the aches from using muscles not usually stretched that far don’t last too long. Thanks too for all the prayers that have truly made the build go so smoothly with some lovely spiritual conversations with the builders. Alec & Andrea
