"I dared to call Him Father" - This is my second reading of this book. These are my comments:
1. Amazing way that God still communicates through dreams.
2. Bilquis' obedience to God, otherwise the "Presence" left her.
3. Bilquis took everything to God in prayer.
4. Bilquis' bravery in becoming a Christian and opposing generations of her family's beliefs.
5. The emphasising at the end of the book that more tolerance is perhaps needed by everyone in understanding the differences between east and west, i.e. cultures, customs, etc.

I am constantly amazed at the generosity of ordinary people in a time of recession who trust us with their gifts, and for those who have given time to distribute them. I thank God for every person who has given us the resources to be generous this Christmas. It truly reflects our God who generously gives us Jesus and trusts us to share that gift with others. May we continue to see God in others. Thank you God for your gift beyond words.

December's book in deep contrast to Nineteen Minutes is I Dared To Call Him Father by Bilquis Sheikh. An inspiring personal testimony by Bilquis of her conversion and baptism in the Holy Spirit from Muslim to Christianity. Profound and passionate I found the book to remind me of my First Love experience with Jesus. Not a heavy book to read and one I would sincerely recommend. A great source of encouragement.

Well done Wendy and Paul - all completed in just over 2 days with no left-overs! Obviously the work put in before the event paid off! It didn't feel like work at all.

Nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult. Had an interesting discussion about bullying and the relationships between parents and children. One comment in the early part of the book which has stayed with me is that when a baby is just born you can see the holiness in their eyes!

Very well written Emma - and capturing the emotion of the day too. It was certainly a day that I shall remember for a very long time - and so honoured to be considered a 'Cobhamite'. Well done Greg for the vision. Karen

I am enjoying the story line, however, I am getting a bit confused with who's who. It is really surprising and encouraging that a book of this nature has relatively no swearing.

I have a special place in my heart for Rose. We remember picking Her and Frank up on the Mini Bus on Sunday mornings.... always a cheerful hello and inquiry into how we were. Rose never failed to inquire about my Mum....( they spent time together in Sunday School in the youth). In later years Rose always asked after Dad (Lt Col Laurie Sutton). We will miss you Rose.

When is too early to start thinking about Christmas? I did ponder on this but the store asked for an Army presence, and judging by the generosity of the public it was much appreciated apart from contacts made. There were customers in abundance including many with Army connections. This is a thought provoking debate.
