HALLELUJAH

This could have been the title of the Ladies Fellowship meeting this month as it was advertised as a DVD evening – and we watched some episodes of the BBC comedy series ‘Hallelujah’ with Thora Hird in the leading role.     Produced in the 1980s, there was much hilarity amongst members remembering the old-style uniforms and mannerisms of the day.

Next month’s meeting will be focussed on the Helping-Hand Appeal.   There will be a Bring and Buy sale of wrapped goods for £1 each (trusting that each gift will be worth at least £1).     We will have a reminder of this year’s project and news of the 2016 focus.     There will be part of the meeting set aside for planning next year’s programme, so ideas will be welcomed.

We are back to our normal second Monday of the month in October with the meeting being on 12 October.

The November meeting will be devoted to packing boxes/bags for elderly/homeless people who will be given Christmas meals at the SA Hall this year. Gifts of toiletries, gloves, scarves, socks etc (mainly mens) would be appreciated.
