Service of Remembrance

The Band and Songsters again took part in the annual Service of Remembrance at the Medway Crematorium.

Traditional hymns, sung by the large congregation and accompanied by the Band, included the following which can be found in the Salvation Army Song Book (17, 54, 8 and 607). The Band provided introductory music and contributed ‘Be Thou my Vision’ during the service whilst the Songsters led the congregational singing and brought ‘God so Loved the World’.

The service was led by Rev. P Wootton (St Alban’s Church, Robin Hood Lane) and  Sylvia Wrigglesworth (Reader, Chatham South). Using Psalm 46 as a reference Rev. Wootton spoke about how emotions are at war in times of grief and things get out of control. We ask ‘where is God?’ and we must learn that he is alongside us, beneath us and around us. God wants to share his presence with us.
