Memories
At the Ladies Fellowship meeting on Monday many memories were stirred as there was a sharing of family wedding photographs – some dating back to 1929.
Lots of stories were told of homemade wedding dresses, stair carpets from the CO’s quarters being taken up and laid down the central aisle for the bride and groom to walk along and borrowed plants. There was also a selection of old newspaper cuttings of events at the Corps and Corps Cadet house parties at Sunbury Court. The time soon went and after sharing tea and coffee Irene Maycock brought the evening to a close with some ‘memorable’ poems and sayings before a closing prayer, especially including Major Bev and Verna.
Here are some more photos – recognise anyone?
The next meeting will be on 14 June at the home of Heather Woodhouse and will be ‘Strawberry Time’. Contact us if you would like to come – everyone is welcome although it’s ladies only on this occasion.
