The past week has been another eventful one at the Corps. On Wednesday the sixth course of Christianity for Life began with fourteen participants. The guest speaker was Nigel Day who contributed to the topic of ‘Belonging to the Church’.

February half term saw the first of our children’s outreach activities for 2010. This event was aimed at the families in the Shipwrights area, for children aged 8yrs-12yrs and took place at the Endeavour Foyer. The Chatham SA Coffee Shop opened its doors to the public today, 22 February 2010. Although it was a slow start, Margaret and David had created a restful pleasant atmosphere in which to drink a welcome coffee and eat excellent scones and cakes.

On Saturday evening a divisional youth film night was held in the Chatham SA with representative numbers from surrounding Corps. A report of this evening will be posted later. The meetings on Sunday were led by Majors Drew and Beverley McCombe.

A report from Rob Christie who runs the Scout Group, Rob Christie Last year with the help of the corps, the Scout Group collected almost 1200 Sainsburys Active Kids vouchers and we only started collecting with only six weeks to go.

The snow has been falling again but not enough to distract us from our activities at the Corps. During the week the Ladies Fellowship met for their Quiz Evening and enjoyed a lively evening of fellowship.

The title ‘Hot Potato’ refers to the content of the informal supper and also the topics being discussed are those which are ‘hot potatoes’ in that there are several different viewpoints and stances that people can take.

The meetings this week were again conducted by Cadets David and Jennifer Gosling of the Prayer Warriors Session with the theme in the morning led by David, ‘Building up the Temple’ and in the evening led by Jennifer, ‘Give it up for Good’.
