Prayer Wave
Corps Prayer Coordinator Margaret Day informs us of a new initiative instigated by Divisional Leaders Lt. Cols. Anthony and Gill Cotterill.
Lt. Cols. Gill & Anthony Cotterill
They are passionate about increasing prayer within the London South East Division of The Salvation Army and a new venture, Prayer Wave, starts this month.
There will be a series of gatherings at different corps over the course of the year and at each event the topics for prayer will be based on the requests of the local corps in that area.
The first event will be held this coming Friday, 8 January, at Gillingham (Green Street) from 7pm onwards with refreshments available. As one of the local corps we have submitted a number of prayer requests which are important to our own corps and will then be supported by a wider group as each topic is prayed over. This is being co-ordinated by Capt Ian Woodgate (Divisional Mission Partner) who has told us that the format of the evening will be: a call to worship, some sung worship, some time to explore prayer zones and stations if wished, or for people to sit and reflect on scripture/prayer requests; we will then come back together for prayer, waiting on God, listening to God, sharing prayer, scripture and whatever else God lays on our hearts….
Our corps events to be prayed for are:
Children’s activity week in February on a local estate.
New Monthly Kids Club at our Hall
Developing the use of the new Cafe Foyer area at our Hall
Introduction of a Give to Grow programme
We would be grateful for the prayers of all our readers, thinking and praying about these topics as they are key to our Corps programme development.
