New Beginnings
New beginnings often occupy our thoughts at the turn of the year.
We can see the evidence of God’s presence in so many new beginnings made in the corps during 2009.
On a personal level we remember the excitement of September when Steve and Mel Scoulding began their period of training to become Salvation Army officers at the William Booth College.
Then we recall those who have become soldiers of our corps during the year. Kirk Tranah, Shirley Tye,Trevor Grant, Jonathan Lockwood, Peter & Sue Willard, Paul & Wendy Scoulding and Eileen & Helen Pearson (have we missed anyone?)
Still on a personal note, but in a different context, we were thrilled with the performance of our new Community Gospel Choir at the Central Theatre in November.
And finally we have seen a transformation in our building with the new facility provided by the foyer/cafe.
No doubt many other examples of new beginnings could be shown but it is good to thank God for His leadings and we must now make sure that the trend is continued in 2010. We invite everyone to surround our corps with prayer as we step out into another year.
