Christianity for Life Plus
Trevor Grant writes:
Despite the difficulties encountered in accessing the hall during the building works, the latest CFL+ course took place during October and November 2009. The course was ably facilitated by both Jean Jones and Ray Maycock who both bring their God filled and infectious enthusiasm to the course content.
This particular CFL+ programme was attended by six delegates including myself from the Corps family, and consisted of seven short sessions running on Wednesday evenings, and Sunday afternoons.
The CFL+ course is specifically designed to help provide each delegate with a deeper understanding of what Christianity means in everyday life, and provides some excellent “tools” to help both new and lifelong Christians in their journey with the Lord.
Particular attention is placed by Jean and Ray on the course being conducted in a totally secure, relaxed and comfortable environment for each of the delegates, with absolutely no pressure being placed on anyone to say or do anything with which they may be uncomfortable.
The course is sensitively run by the leaders, and pitched at just the right level of detail, so that all comers are fully included.
Each delegate is provided with all reference materials. These include a course folder, session handout sheets, and other useful information which can be used as an “aide memoire” for future reference.
Each session studies prayerfully a particular theme: Reading the Bible today, Called into Community, The Lords Prayer (3 sessions), The Holy Spirit, with the final session being Called into Mission. At each of the sessions, guest speakers are invited to talk of their own experiences, thoughts and perspectives on the subject matter under discussion.
For me the CFL+ course programme helped enormously bringing greater clarity, and a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject under discussion, which for a relatively new Christian like myself, has been a thoroughly beneficial and positive experience in my ongoing journey with the Lord.
Having previously attended and thoroughly enjoyed the basic Christianity for Life course run earlier this year, I for one was left wanting more spiritual food, which CFL+ certainly provided for me, and I am equally sure this applied for each one of the other five delegates.
I would highly recommend this excellent course to anyone that may be contemplating attending a course in the near future.
