Nativity – The Word on the Street

Saturday 28 November is the date of the annual Christmas Concerts at Chatham’s Central Theatre.

Nativity (medium) 3pm and 7pm performances

In addition to the usual Salvation Army groups (Band, Songsters, Young Peoples Band and Singing Company, Timbrels and Primary) and, of course, YOURSELVES!, the brand new and very exciting Community Gospel Choir under the leadership of Wesley Carroll will be making its first stage appearance. Every bit as good as the group featured in the recent BBC TV series ‘The Choir’, though about half the size, this choir will have you on the edge of your seats. You just can’t afford to miss them.

Rehearsals for the event are well under way and tickets are now on sale from the Central Theatre at either the Box Office (01634 338338) or on line (www.medway.gov.uk/theatrebookings). Don’t forget to bring gifts to be distributed to children of all ages during the run up to Christmas. In many cases children will have very little else to make Christmas what we all have become so used to and The Salvation Army tries to help as many families as possible, particularly at this period of the year. But please, new toys and gifts only. We want families to know that we care. If you can provide guidance regarding the age and gender for which your gift is most suited, please do, and don’t forget the teenagers. We wish to thank in advance all those who help us so willingly each year and to say, on behalf of the recipients,  how much we appreciate your support.

The Salvation Army has a lot going on in Chatham right now as our new community cafe project reaches fruition. We will bring more details about this in the coming weeks but, in the meantime, make a note to join us. You won’t regret it.

Oh, and by the way, don’t forget those Carol Concert tickets. Its still the best Christmas event in town!
