The day was warm and sunny when 20 of us gathered at the Benedictine Abbey at West Malling. As you can see from the photos below, the facilities were comfortable, the food (which we all provided) was superb, and the prayers went heavenward.
A new Alpha Course begins next Wednesday (16 September) at our Church Street hall.
The Ladies Fellowship starts its Autumn season next Monday (14 September) after a short break for the summer. New members are always welcome and what better time to start than the beginning of the new term!
The Gospel Choir, recruited from our local community, meets for its first rehearsal on Friday (11 September). We shall be following its progress towards the Carol Concerts at Chatham’s Central Theatre (28 November) with interest. The 900 seat auditorium
Major Julian Rowley, corps officer at The Salvation Army’s Hinckley corps, is a son of our own Mike and Muriel Rowley and spent many years here at Chatham before becoming a Salvation Army officer.
This was our first weekend operating the new temporary arrangements set up for the duration of the building works at Church Street and it all seemed to work very well indeed. The hall at the Fort Pitt Grammar School is a good size and accommodated us well as the photos show.
