Press Release
The following Press Release has been issued to local newspapers:
A NEW LIFE OF SERVICE FOR MEDWAY COUPLE
After 30 years in the Metropolitan Police Service, Medway resident Stephen Scoulding (49) and his wife Melanie (50), a former library assistant and Civil Servant, have left their home and jobs to begin training for full-time ministry within The Salvation Army.
It was an Alpha course in 2002 that brought them to the Chatham Corps at a time of personal turmoil. They learned about Jesus and committed themselves into His service. For the next five years, they led the Alpha course and took every opportunity to help others to explore their faith.
And now they begin the next stage of their journey with two years of training at the William Booth College in Denmark Hill, South London, following which they will be commissioned as Salvation Army Officers.
Stephen says: ‘As we approach the greatest step of faith that we have made in our short walk with Christ, we both feel a sense of peace and excitement, because He who called us to this work has finally said… ‘Go now, don’t delay.’

I hope the local press respond and make this news known. Anyway, Steve and Mel we are all praying for you in this new venture for you both and believe that God will use you.
