Mixed fortunes at the Strand

Our Parent and Toddler Groups have experienced mixed fortunes regarding their summer picnics at the Strand this year, says leader Verna Smith.

Last Friday a heavy storm shower in the morning prevented the Mummy & Me group from enjoying its time at the riverside. Soggy sand is not ideal for children of that age and the group quickly transferred its final session of the term to the Church Street hall, venue for its normal Friday activities.

However the Monday group, The Ark, had better weather and enjoyed the end of term fun in sunshine with fresh breezes blowing off the river Medway . We hear that birthday cake was consumed with vigour and the children played happily throughout the morning.

The P & T groups are now in recess until September and we look forward to seeing all the children (and parents) again when the schools return. Have a great summer.
