50 Years of Brownies and Guides
On 1 July 2009 the 7th Chatham Brownie and Guide Units were 50 years old having both been registered back in 1959. A special church parade was recently held to celebrate the occasion.
Leader Deborah and a number of Brownies read poems and prayers written by the girls to mark the occasion.
In celebration the girls are taking part in a challenge where they have to complete 50 activities. Once completed the girls will be awarded the Laser Walking Challenge badge and Campfire Challenge badge and a certificate (badges attached).
The 50 challenges include making an edible campfire, going on a picnic, singing, cooking, taking part in a scavenger hunt and lots more fun activities. The girls have completed the challenge now and had a picnic at the Riverside Country Park, Gillingham on 3rd July. A birthday party will be held on 17th July.
