Gardener’s World
In a little over 30 years Audrey Beeching has transformed her garden from a cabbage patch into a place fit to be part of the National Gardens Scheme, sharing this privelege with a neighbour, the members of the Ladies Fellowship heard this month.
Set in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside and amongst traditional local buildings, Audrey’s garden in Chainhurst, near Maidstone, now attracts many visitors on specific open days and approximately £1000 is donated to the scheme each year. Speaking about the process of development over time Audrey created much interest in the project and it seems likely that a number of the ladies will pay her a visit this summer.
