Building Matters
Last Sunday the following news item appeared in our ‘Order of Service’. We reprint it here for the benefit of those not present and for others who have an interest in Chatham Corps
NEWS ABOUT BUILDING WORKS
As you will all know we will be commencing the foyer works soon. It was anticipated that these might begin as early as May but this has now slipped and the date we have been given is week beginning 20th July. We are working with the ‘Army’ to try and bring this all forward and further updates will be given as is necessary. The anticipated length of the contract work is 10-12 weeks.
At the moment the ‘Army’ have said that the contractors could (yet to be confirmed by the contractors) do the work with us still having access to the main hall on Sundays. However during the week the ground floor of the main hall under the balcony will be out of action -but the rest of the ground floor including the platform can be used in the evenings.
It is anticipated bar a few times when they may have to turn the electrics/water off to carry out works the YP hall and facilities down the corridor and the ante-rooms at the back of the main hall will be available to be used during the works.
Currently we are exploring alternative venues for Sunday Worship -The Emmaus Church have agreed for us to join them on Sunday evenings and we can lead their services and we are still looking for a home for Sunday Mornings as near to the Town Centre as possible
