Quiz Night
The January meeting of the Ladies Fellowship took the form of a Quiz Night and was open to the men also. Just a small number gathered but with Major Beverley McCombe operating the computer the quiz teams attempted to keep up with the questions which came at quick speed from the Family Quiz DVD. Fortunately it was possible to repeat the questions to fill in the gaps before checking out the answers. This was a test of British knowledge based on the counties from Land’s End to John o’Groats.
All took part in this fun evening which ended with an Epilogue by Major Alma Brown in which she referred to the ups and downs of life during the past year, some people experiencing difficult times but some having happy times. As with life, we never know what is around the corner and sometimes things that seem easy (illustrated with children’s jigsaws) can prove to be difficult. She referred to the prophet Elijah who had to depend on the Lord for sustenance when he was in trouble. So it is with each of us as we depend on the Lord who will never let us down.
The next month’s meeting will take the form of a film night and will start at the earlier time of 7.30pm on Monday 9 February 2009.
