A Journey through Advent
Each Wednesday evening at 8pm at our SA Hall, there is a Bible Study led by Major Beverley McCombe.
During the period of Advent we are using a study guide by Rob Frost. There are available to us some daily readings and comments which we can use to prepare us for the evening’s discussion.
The first week was an inspiring look at Isaiah’s prophesy in Isaiah Chap. 9. and the realization that the child given to us was God’s Son – given for us all. Our hope rests in the promise that ‘of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.’
The second week we looked at John’s journey. John the Baptist’s journey began before he was born! God had plans that John would fulfil, that originated from the start of all things. Advent is a time for awe and wonder. The mystery of it all should render us speechless for it’s all about God’s action – not ours.
This week we are looking at Mary’s journey. We travel with her and learn things from her story which will help us to live out our story.
If you live locally, you are welcome to come and join us in our Advent pilgrimage. You will be inspired by God’s word.
