Castles in the Air
Great excitement surrounded the wedding of Gina Butteriss and Martin Castle on Sunday afternoon.
The bride entered to the music of Len Ballentine, ‘Somebody Prayed for Me’, so aptly recognising the truth which lies behind the celebrations about to take place. The Founder’s Song (O Boundless Salvation) set the scene for the ceremony, conducted by Major Drew McCombe, which joined Gina and Martin and truly made them ‘Castles in the Air’.
Other songs used were from Songs of Fellowship, nos. 124, 1020 and 2034. Chatham Singing Company sang ‘Sing to the Power of the Lord Come Down’, Major Kathy Woodhouse offered prayer and Major Jim Brown read from scripture (1 Corinthians 13:1-13). Carole Horwood provided music at the piano and Mitchell Castle brought prayers of blessing for his parents. Music was also provided by a small brass group selected for the occasion.
The reception was held at the Hall and was attended by by many friends, relatives and members of the corps.
