Shoebox Appeal 2008

Once again we are pleased to assist our friends Blythswood Care, with whom Mike Rowley plays an active role, with their Annual Shoebox Appeal.

Mike Rowley

Mike has sent us the following information:

Once again, Shoebox Time is fast approaching. Last year, in excess of one million shoeboxes were sent  worldwide by many organisations of which, Blythswood Care contributed 146,000 plus. While these figures are great, there are many children and adults who did not have a shoebox because there were not enough. Blythswood Care has five main depots; Deephaven  (Nr. Inveness) and  Glasgow in Scotland,  Ballyclare  (Northern Ireland),   Bristol and Medway. More information and details, together with contact telephone numbers, can be found on the website :- www.shoeboxappeal.org.  If the reader lives in the Medway area, then please ‘phone June on 01634 291411 who will be  pleased  to advise.  Please only fill the average size shoebox.  The shoeboxes need to be ready on or before November 3rd. 2008.

The Medway Depot, which is situated at 32A, Riverside 1, Sir Thomas Longley Road, Medway City Estate, is holding a “Make a Difference Day”  on Saturday October 25th, between 10am and 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and help with the shoebox packing, have a “cuppa” and “biccie” and learn about the work of Blythswood Care .  You are free to spend as much time as you wish.  Please remember that every shoebox makes a difference.  Thank you.
