Moving Away

Gladys Jones has been a member of the Home League, and later the Cameo Club, for more than 50 years.

It was in 1957, four years after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II that Gladys first became attached to The Salvation Army here in Chatham. Currently living nearby to Majors Jim & Alma Brown she is soon to move to Bedfordshire to be closer to relatives, the move being made necessary by poor health. Gladys hopes to link up with The Salvation Army in her new locality and was presented with a small gift, by members of the Cameo Club, to wish her well. A good cup of tea was the groups’s way of saying ‘we’ll miss you’.
