Remembering the Last Supper
On Thursday evening a short time of devotion was spent when we remembered the Last Supper
This took place on the feast of Passover, which in Jewish life was a celebration of their nation’s escape from slavery in Egypt. The meditation, which was led by Major Beverley McCombe, used two references to scripture, John 13:1-8 and Luke 22:14-20. These were coupled with songs 647 and 59 from The Salvation Army Song Book and 865 from Songs of Fellowship. At the end of the devotion the congregation were invited to partake of bread and a representative juice as a remembrance of that last occasion on which Jesus dined with his disciples before his crucifixion.
Why not join us tomorrow (Easter Sunday) for worship as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection. Our meetings are at 10am and 6pm and will be led by Commissioner Norman Howe.
