Easter Music
Last evening our Band and Songsters combined to give a programme of Easter music to commence our meditation on the approach to Good Friday.
The worship was centered around three passages of scripture, Matthew 27: 11-16, Luke 23: 32-43 and Mark 15: 33-39. These were read by Irene Maycock, Richard Craik and Tim Scott respectively.
The Songsters brought four songs, ‘We saw Love’, ‘Wondrous Cross’, ‘Before the Cross’ and ‘God so loved the World’ and added much to the atmosphere of worship. The Band’s contributions were ‘Were you there when they crucified my Lord’, ‘When I survey the wondrous Cross’ and ‘Such Love’ which also brought much blessing.
A five piece vocal group sang ‘Come to the Cross’, an invitation to us all at this special time of year.

The various items were linked by readings and prayers and allowed us to think deeply about the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. The meeting concluded with a benediction reading from Romans 5: 6-16.
We invite you to consider the following words, used as a link during our meditation.
I asked Jesus “How much do you love me?” “This much” he answered and he stretched out his arms and died.
For me, for you, for everyone!
Thank you to Carl and Carolynn for arranging a good evening with the Band and Songsters- very thought provoking
