This day is special in the guiding calendar because it is when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts everywhere think about one another, all over the world! This date was first celebrated in 1927 and marks the joint birthday of the World Chief Guide Olave Baden-Powell and her husband, the founder of the guides, Robert Baden-Powell.

The Brownies and Guides chose a country, France, as the theme for the evening. They enjoyed sampling a selection of French cheeses, apples and bread. The Brownies and Guides are pictured taking part in the Eiffel Tower Challenge where they had to build the highest tower from drinking straws! During the evening the girls also made Thinking Day cards and learned more about France.

It was a particularly special evening for Helen as she made her promise as a Guide. It was 3 years to the day since she had made her promise as a Brownie, also on Thinking Day.
