NHS Carol Service

Once again the Medway NHS Primary Care Trust, Voluntary Services Unit, has held its annual Carol Service in Rochester Cathedral.

The Band (Carl Woodman) provided accompaniment to the carol singing and Christmas music for the occasion. The sound of brass is at its best in the cathedral acoustic and the band presented the music with great sensitivity and was well received by the capacity audience of around 900 people.

Also providing seasonal music was Chorisma, a choir of girls from various Medway schools, led by Carolynn Woodman (Carl’s wife and our Singing Company Leader) which presented two sets of carols and Christmas songs. The singing of children at Christmas time is always a highlight and this evening was no exception. Everyone enjoyed the experience especially the children themselves. Another Salvationist, Emma Davis, accompanied the choir at the piano.

The final picture shows the Reverend Lynda Cooke and Canon Dr. Philip Hesketh, Canon Pastor of the Cathedral, enjoying the singing. Lynda gave the address and led prayers whilst Philip made the introductions and gave the final blessing.
