Heralding a New Year This picture reminds us that in a few hours time the chimes of Big Ben will herald the year 2008. Wherever we are in the world this famous timepiece, situated as it is almost on the line of zero longitude, is accepted as the world standard in timekeeping.

Once again the Medway NHS Primary Care Trust, Voluntary Services Unit, has held its annual Carol Service in Rochester Cathedral.
This was the theme when Major Kathy led the annual residents’ carol service at Abbeyfield House in Wigmore
Well, they seem like angels, don’t they? One of our toddler groups, Mummy & Me, held its Carol Service and Party last Friday. Not everybody enjoyed meeting Santa! Perhaps she’s just singing?

After a very busy week Santa’s helpers have succeeded in sorting, packaging and distributing the bulk of the Christmas parcels of food, clothes and toys to many of the needy people in the Medway Towns.
