The Spirit of Christmas

Yes, it is still a little bit early to tell the children that ‘Santa’s on his way’.

It is, however, time that we can think about the coming Christmas for others, perhaps in less fortunate circumstances the our own. ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ (Central Theatre this coming Saturday 1 December) will once again include opportunity for members of the audience to bring gifts which we, The Salvation Army, will distribute to needy families here in our own town. It is a privilege to serve our community in this way and we pray it will continue as long as there are people in need. We are so grateful for the generosity of the public who come to our carol concerts each year and entrust us with this responsibility on their behalf.

So, come along on Saturday (see poster below), enjoy the occasion and help us make a child’s Christmas a happy one.

In addition to the Band we have our Songsters (adult choir), Singing Company (children’s choir) and Junior Band (children and learners) together with our special guest, Joel Whitewood, winner of the BBC Radio 2 ‘Young Chorister of the Year Competition’.
