“We had an excellent start to the new course. Seven people came, one of whom was picking up on sessions she missed last time. The first session is about ‘Belonging to the Church’ and there were some very positive comments about the welcome and friendship they received when they first came to the Corps which has encouraged them to keep coming and wanting to ‘belong’. Some explanation was given about the SA Corps being a Church – part of the church universal and that ‘meetings’ and ‘services’ are the same thing.

We talked about how The Salvation Army came into being and how it is today, the ‘Signs and Symbols’ of the Army and what they mean; the structure, both internationally and locally. Lots of questions like ‘What does evangelism mean?’, Can you explain what ‘worship’ is?, ‘Am I a Christian, I’m not sure?’.

This course is such an opportunity for people to ask questions in a safe, trusting environment and to learn more about the Christian way of life. I’m sure God will bless each one who takes part”.
