12th September : Belonging to the Church
This sessions looks at what the Church is, how to belong and what our responsibilities and expectations should be.
19th September: Reading the Bible
Included is a basic introduction as to why the Scriptures are important, a brief historical background to the Old and New Testaments and some practical ideas about how to read, study and use the Bible.
26th September: Learning to Pray
The contents of this session provide some simple teaching about prayer, introduces the idea of daily personal prayer and covers the basics of praying with others.
3rd October: Living God’s way
A fairly wide-ranging look at Christian ethics and lifestyle. The session also explores some of the challenges and demands of living as a Christian.
10th October: Serving the Lord
Christian ministry in its widest sense. Two aspects are covered (1) church mission and (2) discovering gifts and affirming one another.
17th October: Your money and your life
There are three linked themes (1) the Christian attitude to work and vocation (2) developing a Christian attitude to possessions (3) reflections on Christian giving.
24th October: Learning to love
An opportunity to consider the importance of developing and maintaining good personal relationships.
31st October: Sharing the faith
This final session is designed to help people reflect on their journey of faith. It also considers ways in which they might share their faith with others.
Each session will have a guest speaker and we hope to publish names of these once they are confirmed.
