Monday Spot (4 June 2007)

It hardly seems a year since this website was launched yet it was exactly 12 months last Friday.

These are amongst the first pictures we published

For the next few weeks we are going to change the usual format of Monday Spot and take a look back over the year, highlighting some of the significant events. We begin with the corps vision based on Ezekiel 47:1-12. Read this again if you are a returning visitor and follow the scripture reference to understand our vision for the future. There you will see our Corps Mission Statement – to bring Christ to People and People to Christ – and it seems natural, therefore to remember all those who have found a new faith this year. Back in January we were told that we had enrolled 19 new soldiers since the inception of our vision in July 2005. Here is a picture of just 4 of them, on the occasion of their enrolment in November 2006.

Every body present on that day will remember the testimonies and we recorded that of John as a representative. Click here to listen to it again (or for the first time, perhaps). Our new soldiers have progressed through the ‘Christianity for Life‘ courses now run regularly by the Corps and are ‘finding their feet’ as new Christians. Praise God!

We also remember that our very first item posted on this site was an apology. Apparently some of you had difficulties leaving a comment in our ‘Guest Book’. A minor inconvenience which we sorted very quickly. No such problem exists today and we would welcome any comments you might like to make, either here on this item or in the ‘Guest Book’ (for Guest Book click on the quick link at the top of this page).

Finally a few worthy quotes:

Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun every year.

How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door you’re on.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

We hope you enjoyed looking back. See you next week for a little more nostalgia.

  1. Congratulations on a tremendous job well done. The construction of the site done by ‘the team’, the amazing speed at which all the information is posted, and the effect of this is to keep the site alive and re-visited often. God is working in the corps at Chatham and the website proclaims this to ‘the world’. Thank you Webmaster Murray and team, for your constant attention, up-to-date pictures and messages and the care you show for the detail and site as a whole.
