Her Majesty says…

Regular readers will remember that Heather Woodhouse recently sent a letter to Her Majesty The Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury protesting at the undermining of Christian values within the United Kingdom.

The Archbishop’s office responded some time ago and Heather has now received a response from Buckingham Palace which we are pleased to reprint below.

Dear Mrs. Woodhouse,

The Queen has asked me to thank you for your letter of 31 st January expressing your views on what you feel is the undermining of Christian values within the United Kingdom as a result of recent Government legislation. Her Majesty has taken careful note of your comments.

I must tell you, however, that this is not a matter in which The Queen would intervene. As a constitutional Sovereign. Her Majesty acts on the advice of her Ministers, and I have, therefore, been instructed to send your letter to the Right Honourable Tony Blair. MP, the Prime Minister, so that he may know of your approach to The Queen on this matter and may consider the points you raise.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Jennie Vine

Correspondence Officer

We hope the Prime Minister will take notice, but we doubt it!
