GLAD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY I BRING
TO YOU AND ALL MANKIND
The angels of old brought their Christmas message to the shepherds but also to all mankind by singing in the sky. Nowadays we can do the same thing through the internet.
The Chatham Citadel Corps wishes you all a very happy Christmas and may the New Year bring all that you desire and, most of all, need.
Firstly a brief reference to our Christmas Eve meetings. In the morning we enjoyed family worship together featuring mainly traditional carols and scripture from Luke 2:13-14, John 1:10-14 and John 3:16-21. Major Drew led the meeting on the theme of ‘What’s it all about?’ Asking questions about ‘Peace on Earth’ and whether the Christmas story has become ‘plastic’ and ‘toy-like’ he encouraged us to ‘push through your questions to discover truth’.
Our other meeting was in the form of Midnight Carols (by candlelight) with a fitting climax when our white ‘Christ’ candle was lit to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
For your enjoyment we now offer a series of photographs taken during the Christmas period. If you took part in any of these activities we hope you enjoyed doing so. If you were not able to be present then we hope you enjoy the pictures. Share our Christmas with us.
