Monday Spot (25 September 2006)

A slightly less hectic week-end than last, at least for some of us, and a very important one in the life of Louise Robinson.

In our Sunday morning meeting Louise was ’sworn in’ as a Salvation Army soldier by her grandfather, Major James Brown.

The meeting was led by Major Kathy, with the ceremony taking a large part of the procedings. Louise’s uncle, Major Ray Brown (the commanding officer at William Booth Memorial Halls, Nottingham) sent a letter which was read during the ceremony.

This meeting also included our Harvest Thanksgiving and began with the children bringing their baskets of fruit and vegetables for the display. Major Kathy spoke about the incredible world we live in and the Singing Company had a message for Louise using the words ‘Heaven is counting on You’. The scripture was from Genesis 1:26 - 2:3 and amongst the songs used was No 25 from The Salvation Army Song Book.

In the evening we continued our Harvest Thanksgiving and we were reminded that, from all we receive, we must give the FIRST things to God. Scripture used was from the Psalms, using Nos 8 and 65, and our songs included Nos 19 and 924 from The Salvation Army Song Book.
Finally, for those who like pictures, here are some more from the morning’s ceremony.

  1. Congratulations, Louise, on making the right decision to become a Salvation Army soldier, an integral part of the Chatham SA Christian family. May you enjoy worship, prayer and fellowship in the worldwide ‘army’ and guidance, comfort and avenues of service within God’s will.
