There were about 20 people present to hear Greg Davis, our own SA Independent Financial Consultant, speak about financial matters.

Firstly, he led a quiz to check our financial knowledge about things like ‘How is Education and the NHS funded?’ and ‘If inflation is higher than the bank interest rate is it better to spend or save?’. It turned out that we were able to answer more questions correctly than the national average!

He explained the role of the Independent Financial Consultant and gave some examples of the types of people he is able to help. We were surprised to learn some statistics about the lack of savings and high credit card debts of people in this country.

Greg linked his talk to the Bible and the fact that ‘money’ is mentioned 118 times. His answers to questions were most enlightening. We came away with the impression that we all had to really take stock of our finances and remember that money does not bring happiness.

The Ladies Fellowship is not limited to those who regularly attend at The Salvation Army. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
